Warren Says Goodbye?

It seems as if FSU football cannot catch a break. On the good news front, John Lilly has decided to stay with the Noles after he interviewed with Alabama this week. Lilly said he was offered a position on Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide staff, but chose to stay at FSU.

In not so good news, it seems as if tight end Brandon Warren wants to transfer to Tennessee. It is not because of his mother who is doing better but because he is homesick. Warren told teammates on Friday that he was returning home to Alcoa, Tennessee and planned to withdraw from Florida State. Sources within the program confirmed that the freshman All-American left Tallahassee early Saturday morning with a relative. He told friends that he has no intentions of returning to Florida State.

It is not believed he would qualify under NCAA’s hardship rules which would allow him to transfer without losing a year of eligibility. It is not likely that FSU would give Warren, who finished with 28 receptions for 301 yards and one touchdown as a freshman, his release.
