Another Sweep for The Noles
The top-ranked Florida State baseball team completed its sweep of Boston College Sunday afternoon behind the hitting of Dennis Guinn who came up just a single short of hitting for the cycle. Seminole starter Ryan Strauss carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning picking up his sixth win as Florida State (26-1, 6-0) downed Boston College (6-11-1, 4-5) 7-0.
"It was a solid weekend of baseball," said FSU Head Coach Mike Martin. "I was very pleased with Ryan Strauss today. In all my years at Florida State I have never seen an opportunity for a no-hitter and a guy hitting for the cycle in one day. Unfortunately neither one worked out but it was a very exciting day and a very good weekend for Florida State."
